Our first mission trip as a church was to Pocahontas, WV. We had three missions to our journey. One was to build a wheel chair ramp for an elder woman who could no longer navigate the stairs from her front porch. Besides being for the family, emergency responders would also need the ramp access to be able to do their job, as well. We worked with First Baptist Church of Huntersville in connecting to the family.
Another was to help lead a VBS at Watoga State Park. The VBS has taken place at the same time and place every year and vacationers looked forward to the VBS happening while they vacationed at the park.
On our trip we stayed at Eaden in the Alleghenies center. It is a Christian retreat center. While there, we helped them with a few repairs and maintenance for the benefit of everyone who enjoys the center.
